After detox, clients will have increased opportunities to communicate and interact with their families. We highly value the input of the family and almost always seek their insights before starting treatment with a new client. This helps us customize a recovery plan that best suits their needs.

At Freedom Drug and Alcohol Recovery, our detox program typically lasts 7 to 10 days. Throughout the detoxification process, medications are administered following a taper system, with the dosage carefully determined by a licensed physician. The exact duration of detox is determined through an individual appointment.
The medications that may be administered during detox include:
Methadone – Strictly used to detox from heavy methadone use. The dose is gradually reduced until the client no longer requires the medication.
Hydroxyzine – This medication helps in reducing anxiety symptoms.
Subutex – Used to treat agitation, anxiety, muscle aches, a runny nose, yawning, sweating, and cramping.
Ambien – A short-term sleep aid used during detox to aid with sleep.
In addition, we may also prescribe Valerian root and melatonin to further support the client’s sleep during the detox process.
